Extremely easy car buying experience. From our connection thru Costco Peter Young to our product specialist Paul Browning. Would definitely recommend. A++I love my new CX-5!!!
Last week I bought a 2016 CPO Miata. To summarize, I left that day with the car I wanted at the exact price I wanted. The salesman who helped me was Paul Browning. He was a chill companion during my test drive (even though at his height he was cramped in the fun but small Miata). I wanted to test drive the car a little longer than usual, but he had no problem meeting my additional requests. When it came to the price I wanted to pay, and after a few back-and-forths with the back office, we agreed to a deal at the exact price I wanted. The finance person assigned to me was Jamie. She was great in walking through the paperwork process. I was happy to see that there were no bogus charges that other dealerships tried to tack on. Of course she gave a spiel about the extended warranty and prepaid maintenance plan, but this push is to be expected and I'm sure they are useful for some consumers. Overall, very painless process throughout with both Paul and Jamie who were awesome. A+ for coming in and leaving with the car I wanted at the price I wanted in under 3 hours (including test drive and everything else). Hopefully my future experiences with them (for maintenance and such) are as positive as my car-buying experience. ----------------------------- Two negatives worth mentioning. 1) Their email system is useless (in my experience); good luck getting a response from a real person. The good news is that they are very friendly and helpful in person and on the phone. 2) I paid in cash and was promised that I would not receive a hard credit check -- It turns out a hard credit check was ran. I understand that dealerships say they have to do this because of the Patriot Act, but that's not true. For cash transactions above $10k they do need to run a form of background check, and a credit application is a convenient way for them to do so, but it isn't legally required. This is a minor point and not a big deal since I knew it was going to happen anyway, just a little bit annoying.
First I am a Ford guy. I've never drove anything besides Fords until today. My wife and I have two small children and we were in the market for a larger vehicle. After some research we came to the conclusion that we would try something different, a Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring. When I am in the market for a new car I send out a lot of emails searching for a dealership that will locate the vehicle I am searching for, and be transparent with the process and the costs. I found that with Joshua at South Bay Mazda. When I walk into a dealership I want all the money stuff taken care of so we don't have to waste time going back and forth. I told Joshua that I didn't want any surprised (unless they were good) because I would walk right out. I sent over information and documents prior so he could start the paperwork. I asked to be in and out and in hour and he said he could do that. We arrived at the dealership a little after 7pm and Joshua already had the paperwork completed and the car was being detailed. He then introduced me to a guy named Jeff to take care of the paperwork. Jeff did a great job of explaining the meaning of each document we had to sign. A little after 8pm our car was on a Red Carpet ready to go. Joshua had kept his word by making sure we'd be out in an hour. He wanted to make sure I knew how all the tech stuff worked so he spent an additional 20 minutes to explain everything. I am sure there were other people involved with the process but I didn't catch everyone's name. It was a very nice experience and I am happy we decided to venture out with the Mazda brand! Thanks South Bay Mazda! PS The car is beautiful inside and out and it is really fun to drive. Definitely the right decision!
Good family dealership, friendly staffs
We bought our 2016 Mazda CX-5 here. The transaction itself was painless, quick and actually fairly pleasurable. Since then, as a part of the extended warranty, we had a number of free oil changes and routine services. The services are quick and efficient, any and all work is done without issues and if there is an additional issue or item that needs addressing, they are communicative and fair without up-selling or being pushy. Jeremy the service manager (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Jeff (email@example.com) always take care of us and have helped incalculably with small warranty issues and general maintenance suggestions. They are very honest when items like cabin air filters need replacement which are DIY, they advise as such. For paid items, the labor rates are actually competitive with independent shops. I really cannot say enough positive about the whole organization, sales, finance and service departments. Besides the fact that they sell and maintain a good product, the people that make it all happen are second to none.
Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Everyone at South Bay Mazda is always very friendly. Richard, in parts, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Oncy was a great help and was realistic about my situation. I was unable to afford the price they wanted but had a great experience. This is a little smaller than those big and intimidating car lots, so as a female I was appreciative of that. Came here because of a Costco membership thang... about $750 off used or new cards or depending what your deal with them is.
