What is MAZDA Connect™?

2021 Mazda CX-30 Front Interior

If you’ve recently purchased a new Mazda vehicle, you might be wondering “what is Mazda Connect™?”. We’re here to help! Mazda Connect™ and Mazda Connected Services is a control operating system for your infotainment system to keep you focused on the road. It’s one way we make sure that you and your passengers are safe while driving through Redondo Beach. We’ll go into more detail about what this entails below.

How Does MAZDA Connect™ Work?

To answer this question, it’s simple! The Commander control interface effortlessly controls the functions inside the vehicle. Rather than the driver reaching over to touch a screen to determine the interior settings, there are buttons and knobs placed conveniently near the gear shift. The main knob is the Commander control. It has several movement functions, so the driver doesn’t have to try to accurately press the touch screen. There are also shortcut buttons for the home, audio and map screens, as well as “favorites” where you can put your most frequently used controls. The volume knob is smaller and placed in the same panel as the other controls. All the settings will be displayed on the unique widescreen display.

Many of our Manhattan Beach customers ask “Does my Mazda have Mazda Connect™?”. This feature is only available on the following vehicles:

  • 2019+ Mazda3
  • 2020+ Mazda CX-30
  • All 2020+ and future models

How to Use Mazda Connect™

Now that you have a better understanding of how Mazda Connect™ works, it’s time to learn how to use it! We’ve already covered the basics with the controls. Now it’s time to get the most out of the system and connect your Bluetooth® devices. Take calls, play music and receive text messages through your Mazda vehicle to avoid handling your phone while driving. Follow these simple steps using the Commander knob described previously:

  1. Select the “settings” function on the Mazda Connect™ Home Screen.
  2. Select “connectivity settings”.
  3. Select “Bluetooth® settings”.
  4. Select “pair new device”. Make sure the Bluetooth® feature is turned on your phone as well.
  5. A list of Bluetooth® options will appear on the screen. Select the one you’d and follow the prompts to connect and complete your pairing!

Having trouble and wondering “why won’t my Mazda connect to Bluetooth®”? First, turn off the car and turn off the Bluetooth® on your phone. Restart both items and try going through the process above a second time. If you’re still having issues, contact our service department.
